chilled at home until 1530, where papa picked me up
went to t2 to eat jap food - delicious!
went to budget terminal where i "treated' him to seltzer's apple soda at han's which l8r he insisted he pay me back, lame.
oh yeah in the car park
there'll usually be barriers separatin the rows of cars
at the budget terminal, these barriers made of trees were flat
and papa wanted to go to e other side
so he just drove on e grass to e next row
it was hilarious
papa then left early and i waited for my friends
soon everyone reached and we checked in
i realized that my bag was 8.5 kg, quite 'light' compared to my friends'
checked in to the transit lounge
quite a no. of shops, not bad
the perfume shop was sellin myscenebarbie perfume at super cheap prices. wanted to buy but decided to do it l8r
they also have carlorino and o'briens and minitoons over there!
chilled and waited 4 time to pass and watched tv b4 we could board e plane
e plane gates were like how a hospital looked like, funny
l8r, we were l8 4 boardin cos my friends went to buy stuff
so we were one of e last to board e plane
it was not air-conditioned
and like other countries, when royalty or pop stars arrive,
we gotta walk on e roads and go up e staircase b4 reachin e plane
e plane was weird, it didn't have 3 sections, just 2 sections with 3 seats each
tiger airways, wad u expect.
E air stewardesses’ clothes were cute

black corduroy pants
and a tiger striped belt
all by Giordano, not bad
so we were not allowed to have our own food and drinks on board, must buy from them.
Gekyin told me e plane was so dry that a cup of water would evaporate completely after a plane trip
So I also got my window seat!
It was that dehydratin, that’s why e teachers kept remindin us to hydrate ourselves
Moisturize and lipbalm ourselves
Cried and cringed due to e air pressure, was really horrible
So reached Shenzhen at around midnight
Went to this hotel
Its not bad, and damn cheap
Like 50RMB a room a night, like cool!
So we checked in, slept like 3+

woke up
had breakfast
so not e typical hotel continental buffet breakfast I expected
e Chinese were quite burly and loud
kept talkin at e top of their voices over some small matter
makin e waitress like, annoyed
after eatin was e 7+ hr bus ride to ganzhou
Shenzhen was quite hot, like Singapore.
And e temp dipped as we proceeded on e journey
Ganzhou was like quite cool and cold, like Genting, very nice!
It’s like autumn there, so the day’s quite short
We reached Hou De zhong xue around 6+
When we entered e skool we were welcomed by thunderous applause
E skool was quite oriental and historical lookin
And e welcome was damn grand, I was quite surprised
So after some boring and formal and informative speech which I hardly understood cos of my pathetic Chinese, we were introduced to our hosts for e night.
And did I mention, one of us had to pair with 2 chinese 13yrolds.
I was super nervous and excited
Like im gonna be all alone
And go to the people’s house, have dinner and go sightseeing!!
So my two hosts were:
E gal: sun duan
E boy: luo yang (same surname)
After some awaitin, we took taxi to her house which was very near
E startin fair 4 e taxi there was 4RMB
Reached her house which was situated in a skool or sth liddat
Very super dark by then
Like msia, the roads and highways have no street lights
So I was like takin every step very carefully
Like my other friends, I was surprised when the lights at the block would instantly light up when we tapped our feet or walked past it, haha
Reached e house (sunduan’s)
All families in china are only allowed to have 1 children
Her father had to be posted for job, but he stayed a day longer just to entertain me!!!
Her mother cooked a variety of Hakka food
Hakka is e main dialect e ppl in Ganzhou belong to
So sun duan peeled a pair 4 me, and I had no choice but to eat it!!!
E food was not my type at all, but I had to force feed myself to show some respect 4 em
E shows in china are very way back
They’re currently showin ai shang nu zhu bo, which I watched like eons ago!
I learnt that Hakka ppl drink soup first b4 startin on their food
So after eatin we went sightseeing on mr sun’s car
In china they drive at e left side
They were very nice, opened e door 4 me all e time and let me have e front, most spacious seat
We went to a historic place where all e buildings were illuminated by all types of colors of lights, very beautiful
E trees were blue, purple, red, orange due to e lights
E word ganzhou is derived by wad its surrounded by
E gan jiang and e gong jiang
E aerial view of ganzhou is shaped like a turtle
E walls had 2 functions – as a fort and a dam
It was constructed durin e song dynasty and is really really long
We walked on e jian chun men pontoon bridge made by 100+ wooden bridge connectin 2 cities separated by the jiang
After e park we drove through e old estates prevalent in ganzhou
It was dark so e view wasn’t that flatterin
china has areas where the place is just dedicated to exercising and walkin,kewl
after a while, they sent me back to my hotel
sunduan gave me some cny decorations, dunno if they were handmade or used haha
while my friends’ host gave em so many products of ganzhou, and a lot lot lot of stuff!
But wad matters is e thought rite
I had nothing to give to them
I gave my precious ring to sunduan
I gave both of em a packet of worm yupigummy each
They were so delighted that they’re holdin sth from Singapore, they were like really high!
They left

started off with breakfast buffet at our new pearl hotel, not continental, super Chinese
went sightseeing, and e same places that my hosts brought me
this time we went to more places, more detailed
and I got to see everything more clearly
ganzhou is super misty/foggy/hazy
ppl smoke a lot and e vehicles are like super horrible, emittin black smoke all e time
went to mr jiang jing guo’s former residence
he’s e son of mr chiang kai shek
walked past some old houses
ppl livin there were elderly livin their twilight years cos they were used to that kinda life
its really Spartan, simple, and kinda unhygienic
they have no stove, use charcoal as fuel to cook
they throw orange peel everywhere
and throw their rubbish indiscreetly
cos everythin leads to a pipe
so to prevent e pipe from choking, they adopt a turtle
to feed on e stuff to clear e pipe from choking
after sightseeing we went to e rural/suburban part of ganzhou
walked for a long time to reach e top of e hill
they have terracin, only this time they’re growin not rice but their ganzhou special product, the qicheng
its like an orange only it looks like a belly button from underneath, that’s why its called ‘qi’
we were to climb down e ‘stairs’ to reach e bottom of e hill/knoll/mountain
where e qicheng farms are located
we were to use e steps
heavily eroded and full of small rocks,
it was bloody slippery
it was shaped beyond how stairs would looked
really in a horrible state
one slip and you could say au revoir
and slip down all e way to e bottom of e mountain
very very dangerous
we took a long time to reach e bottom
it looked really scary from e top
we were very high up, e ‘summit’, in the first place
finally after a long time we reached
though sometimes we slipped
we formed a human chain, it was really teamwork
mag cried, I prayed
all of us heaved a sigh of relief when all of us completed it.
E farm was scattered with dog poo and e dogs went freely around
E farmers let us eat a lotta qichengs
They’re diff from singapore’s ones cos its much sweeter and beta
They taught us to pick e oranges
It was then our turn
I picked a few, slowly
Saw a nice one, wanted it but it was too steep and high up
A 70+ woman saw me and went up e steep land in just one huge step
She’s like super strong, despite her age!
I was afraid to go up, cos its really high up
So she pulled me up in one strong pull, like pro!
She owns all e old folks man
L8r I kinda talked to her despite e lang barrier
She’s cute man, I like her!!!
After pickin we went to e only primary skool in ganzhou’s poorest village
It was opened in sept 06
Some children who cant afford to live in e skool dormitories have to walk home in e dark 4 2-3 hours everyday!
Like, its really dangerous for em!
We taught e children games and songs
It was real fun
And they are all cam-whores! Haha
No, they like to take pictures and are fascinated by such a gadget
After teachin, it was dark, rainin and slippery
But they still went out in e rain to send us off in our bus..
Really touchin
Dinner, debrief till like 2-3+, despite us feelin very tired?
No choice but to go on, damn man.

e bulk of e day was spent teachin at another primary skool
we taught em games
Chinese students are very spontaneous, enthusiastic
Not like us Singaporeans who aren’t sportin and always sayin
Lame this lame that
They’re perfect students cos
They’re hardworking and obedient
Tho when some parts of e game weren’t structured perfectly
Some conflicts broke out
And I went speechless and traumatized
As I watched e small children debate among themselves
They were really loud and fierce and aggressive man
E teachers had all e same clothes
E men all wore black suits
E female also black suits, only with purple blouses underneath.
They were really nice
The skools in ganzhou have music boards where they produce e sounds of e note when we touch it
E science labs were not bad
E teachers staff room was really simple
Took some last minute pictures with e kids
Really memorable
went back to hotel, dinner, bathed, debriefed until like 2-3+?

supposed to wake up at 0630, do last minute packin, check out with our luggage by 0730 and finish breakfast and set off by 0800.
and guess wad,
jo and I woke up at 0745.
if not 4 e tour guide, we’d still be sleepin.

Rushed really bad
Regretted not takin some pictures of e hotel
So did some last minute phototakin
Went to Hou De zhong xue
Taught English
Their English standard’s not bad man
We attended 1 english lesson of theirs too
Its very interesting, only their pronounciation was a bit off.
After lesson, I was hoarded with a lotta students for my autograph
I felt like a popstart
I was gonna sign but that’s really stupid
So I wrote my Chinese name and email address
After that was music lesson
We enjoyed performances by e students
Their music lessons were really great, not like ours
It was so good that they won awards while at regional competitions for it, eh!
After that was our turn to reciprocrate
So we sang a whole new world, which was quite screwed
I hate this song man, also sang it for installation06!
We also sang stefanie sun’s chao quai gan
I didn’t noe e lyrics so I lipsynced most of e time
My friends were really stiff man, only Joanne and I were ready to shake and move about
They just stood still, like some wooden block
Ah, come on!
After lesson was pe, but since it rained, we went to play some games indoors that ganzhou ppl play.
Or else I could’ve dueled my friends with vball or badminton haha
Its like tryin to balance a wheel usin a rod
E trick is to hold e rod real low
There was also top spinnin
After that we ate lunch
Then it was time to bid farewell
We were hoarded for our autographs again
After that some last minute pictures,
Then the sad and unwilling farewell
Then was e 7+ hr bus ride back to Shenzhen
Couldn’t eat in e city (phew) due to e sat traffic congestion in e city
So we ate kfc at e airport
Their mac’s sundae, when translated, is xin di!
Wad a weird translation!
And everything’s cheaper, as expected
Stoned 4 awhile den went to e boarding gate
They scanned my bag and saw a water bottle
So e woman called me to one side
Asked me if I had a water bottle
And if I could open my bag and show it to her
I had a clear conscience so yeah, comeon
She took e bottle, opened it, smelled it
It still had a lil peach smell cos I refilled water over it.
Wads e point in smellin man?
To see if I have bad breath (god forbid!)
And if im a terrorist and there really is poison, won’t you fall to e ground when u smell it?
Wad a stupid way man
Then she capped it, shaked it and gave it back to me
I tried to restraint myself from laughin too much.
Everyone were sittin one e chairs at e waitin area
I went to e toilet and before I could start peein,
Jasmie came in, said, board already
We ran out, only to see
KIASU Singaporeans linin up at e boarding gate
1 ½ hrs b4 boardin time
so we had to be kiasu too in order to have a seat
we stood there
but afteran hr our legs almost died
so we sat down
and e group of Singaporean men behind us played cards, haha
and Shenzhen’s airports sux big time man
no aircon, no fan, no ventilation!
It was super humid, with all of us still in our longsleeved shirt from ganzhou
E water cooler read – safe from drinkin
When mrs tan filled her water bottle and drank it
She told us to smell it
It smelt and tasted like mud!ewww
So finally after eons of awaitin it was boarding time
And everyone, kiasu as ever, pushed and ran
Cos its free seatin yeah

So we reached Singapore at 5+ cos e plane was delayed..
And it was e first time when my ears didn’t hurt like hell at all…
e whole journey was so smooth
we didn’t even feel it liftin from e air or hittin e ground
nothing at all
I was so greatful to e captain
I couldn’t stop thankin him in my head
So reached
E arrival hall sucked, only had 2 shops,
And they didn’t have my myscenebarbie perfume!
So I couldn’t buy anything at all!
Was glad to see papa
BUT
He asked me to eat tanahmerah roti prata with him
Too full so I just drank an iced milo
THEN
He asked me to go e e 0645 mass
When I was like halfway pass and conked out
So e whole mass I was like jelly
Though I saw a really cute guy ahahhhhhhhh
Cute guys do go for early masses too.
Saw * too, like whoa.
Reached home, chilled, read newspapers, and slept 4 11 hrs. haha
SO WHAT ABOUT THIS TRIP?
It sucked cos of e debriefs
And e lil sleep of like 3-4 hrs per night
Real hell and torture
And im a fussy eater
So e food durin e few days of e trip was totally unacceptable to me
Except e soup and rice, and If im lucky, e vegetables
That’s wad I ate e few days
For once, I drank 4 ppl’s soup cos they didn’t want it! Like, hahaa!
But I didn’t lose weight cos…
I was hungry at night
So I snacked and ate junk food
E whole few nights, every night too!
Like chocolates, crackers, and pure, sheer junk!
Oh yeah did I mention
E primary and secondary skools’ toilet cubicles have
NO DOORS!!! HAHAHHAHAHAH
Oh yeah I got hoarded by beggars outside a supermarket
Everything was damn chaotic
E beggar saw me lookin at her and putting my wallet in my bag
So she tagged at my shirt and couldn’t let go of me
My god I was prayin like crazy!
And e most wasted thing was
We didn’t get to go shoppin at all!
E only place we went once, for a short while was e supermarket, like hello??!!
And they brought us to this place where they sell ganzhou specialties
E tour guide introduced and after that we didn’t even have time and straight away went 4 e cashiers’ already.
Cos PEOPLE think that theirs no time @ all, when we did have some spare
And didn’t let us have e chance to even step into a shop or touch or see something
China is famous 4 cheap stuff
And we didn’t even get to that part
Like, wad a huge waste!
But it rocked cos
I got e chance to snack w/o losin (bahhh) or gainin any weight.
Everythin balanced each other out
I really love and appreciate Singapore so much beta now
I am so so so fortunate I know.
I got closer to my friends
And I made some really nice ppl
You really feel a sense of achievement once you finish teachin and that ppl enjoy your lesson
Or even have their attention
And to be able to reach out to them
Those much poorer people
And bein able and seein smiles on their faces
And that knowin that we have brightened their day
It just gave us a feeling that was indescribable and irreplaceable
I’ ve learnt a lot of stuff from this trip that words cant describe it all
Though it was really annoyin and sucky at times,
There were also memorable and nice moments
That’ll neva leave my memory
I’ll always remember them
and
IT’S BITTERSWEET.

i was elated and excited at first, cos this was e plan after skool:
- rush home
- rush to jos' house
- chill there
- wait 4 emaths olevel paper to be over
- go night shopping and townin after that
but my plan was totally thwarted cos:
- there suddenly was a meetin
- didn't know wad time it ended
- had to change plans
so after skool this is wad i did:
- rushed home
-bathed, got ready stuff needed 4 townin trip and sleepover
- rushed back to skool
-meetin
and i didn't know it'll end so late
and
it was rainin so heavily!
so after e meetin, which was like 1845, i:
-rushed to town
-met jos and c at 1930
-ate SUBWAY ooh lala
- bought e bikini
-towned
-drifted in town
-walked practically e whole of town
- decided to catch STEP UP instead of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE which i had to persuade em very hard in order not to watch a scary movie WHICH i can neva tolerate unless u want to see me screamin and cryin
e movie was 1135 and jos and i had 2 hrs to spare while c went to collect sth somewhere. so we drifted again and by this time, all e shops were closed, what a bore man! the streets were quite lively as the night was still young. all e clubbin and funky kewl ppl were mostly doin their thanng over there. so we decided to take some pics with e help of some ppl we prob wouldn't even see again:

after driftin we got so tired so we went up to e lan area at e 9th floor. my god, it was kinda late and there were so many guys. ahhhh hahaha. ok so this is pretty jos.
before e townin and chillin, i was at skool rmb? so i had to change. in order not to bring too much stuff and to travel light, i had no choice but to wear my sports shoes. aiya don't match, they say! i think i was e only person who looked post-skool-like. kinda embarrassin, esp when u see peepz all dressin so fly.. oh yeah back to e story, durin meetin at skool, my friends did balloon sculptin. so there were extras and cher said to just take one and make a random kid's day by givin it to him. i took a pink poodle. cute! and rmb i could actually give it to vanessa, my niece as i would go to her hse l8r on! so i took a lotta pains to make sure e poodle would be delivered to her unharmed and at tip top condition. i tried my best, almost went paranoid and obsessed to 'protect' e poodle. i even kept e poodle in c's bag amongst all the stuff! so i managed to keep e poodle unharmed 4 7+ hrs. and e IRONIC thing was: it all went to nothin.
at e void deck, i saw tt e poodle had scotch tape stuck to it. so i tried to remove it and guess wad? yes. IT BURST. we were like OMG. i was so disappointed with myself and like jestin- wad a fool ihad just been.
i was disappointed cos:
- i tried to keep it unharmed and tried really hard
-it burst cos of my stupid mistake
-i told van bout it and she was so excited bout it. i told her ahyi got present 4 u, u'll like it alot. she's like 4+ yrs old. she even called me again to rush me to hurry up go home.
- van was so excited bout my arrival that she waited up for me. she refused to sleep cos she wanted to see wad i got her. thats why agnes scolded me haha. so she fell asleep whilst waitin 4 me. i feel so sorry 4 her. and so angry at myself too. sigh yeah
so after e movie it was like 1+? we drifted in town, lolled, and cabbed home(jos' home). reached home at like 2+. and taxis from 12-6am arent cheap man! why don't they have public transport for townin ppl like us, oh man! it's like 150% of e fare? ouch ouch.
so bathed, got ready and all and slept about 4
woke up at 7+. left jos house and reached skool at 1015. i was sleepwalkin, as in walkin with my eyes closed from e day and night store all e way to skool, with some glances in between to make sure i wasn't hittin anythin. walked all e way to e back gate. saw jo. realized e gate was BLOODY LOCKED. so decided to walk 2 e front gate, no choice. den jo (another jo)'s car popped out of somewhere and fetched us. wow an angel in disguise. and we needed it so much. merci beaucoup! haha jo was also sleepwalkin and while she was walkin this aussie couple actually asked her 'are you ok?' haha.
so e meetin lasted till 3+. den it rained so heavily. so ms lai fetched zi jun and i to e 12 busstop thanks so much ms lai. den reached home 4+.
slept from 6-11. woke up. slept from 4-11. wad a nice day.
so 4 e next few days, i'll be really busy. this is my schedule:

when e wind blew or sth, xy did a marilyn monroe pose- bendin down, legs spread slightly apart, hands put on knees and act dainty lookin. it was cute and funny, so we decided to follow her. this was done whilst e tour woman was talkin so e classmates were luffin at us too:
finally, e tour ended, what a relief. 70% of e class went to catch AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH. it was torturous, tirin and too bleak. no storyline, all talk talk talk by Al Gore bout e ailin envt and stuff. we were all exhausted after e tour, so this movie was simply -can't take it-. we occupied 2 whole rows of gv ps cinema. damn fun! us after e movie. as you can see in both e pics, e flash was so bright that our eyes hurt and we were shocked and traumatised:

it all started out with a movie.
we were 10 mins late
and ran for 10 mins in hills b4 reachin e cinema
went to the cinema
realized that our seats were being taken by someone else
i exclaimed- our seats have been taken!
someone asks where our seats were
and told us it was at THE OTHER SIDE of the cinema
went to the other side
took my first step in and exclaimed- i think i just stepped on sth!
girl takes her heels and puts it behind
i take my next step forward into my seats
and oops
i stepped on this girl/boy's legs with my HEELS
apologised profusely
sat down and caused the guy beside to give up his drink space for mine
after 10 mins
we were like - wow the trailer of doa not bad, can specifically depict the story, and what a long trailer.
after 15 mins
i wonder if we were at the right cinema
asked people- excuse me is this the covenant?
oh hell, no, this is doa: dead or alive.
all of us shouted SHIT!
got up stepped on people again
went out
and went in the other entrance of the SAME doa theatre.
finally found the right theatre
the movie had started long ago
caused a ruckus cos it was tres tres dark
finally settled down and watched the movie- HAWT!
after that went to work- the gruelling FASHION SHOOT in the midst of the rain
indoors still, preparin
gettin ready for the real deal-
